About Palace On Wheels
This original luxury train of India was first introduced in 1984 using saloons of former Maharajas Of India.
Due to logistical reasons the Saloons of former Maharajas were soon replaced by Metre Gauge Train with sharing bathrooms.
In late 1990,s a broad gauge version of the train with attached bathrooms was introduced & for 2017 season a new train has been launched. This new version of Palace On Wheels train offers 39 Deluxe Cabins & Two Super Deluxe Cabins for guests with Two Restro-Bar Lounges & Spa saloon.
There is no provision of triple occupancy in the new train & maximum 2 persons>5 years can adjust in 1 Cabin

The concept of Palace On Wheels train tour is that you journey from one tourist destination to another,in comfort of your sleeping chambers & enjoy Pre-Paid Group Excursions & Sightseeing Trips during the Day,with Services of English Speaking Guides.
DAY 1 : Wednesday : New DELHI Depart
Self report at Safderjung Railway station by 430 p.m. for traditional welcome & check in formalities Guests are escorted to respective sleeping chambers & train soon departs.
DAY 2: Thursday: JAIPUR
Welcome to the first planned city of India,built in early 18th century & once the centre of Rajputs Royal families.It is also popularly known as The Pink City.
Morning visit the early 18th century built City Palace Complex with fusion of Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture Proceed for excursion to Amber Hill Fort Palace Complex,built in late 16th century. Enjoy Elephant joy ride up the steep ramparts Time free to shop for local textiles,semi precious stones & diamond jewellery Evening enjoy Cultural program with Gala dinner in Palace Hotel.
DAY 3 : Friday : Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve & Chittor Fort
Early morning excursion to Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, famous for its tiger population. Other major wild animals include the tiger, leopard, nilgai, dhole, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear and chital. It is also home to wide variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles. Ranthambore is also the site for one of the largest banyan trees in India.
Afternoon excursion to 8th century built Chittorgarh Fort,atop a wide plateau & having a number of water bodies.It was once home to the Mewar Dynasty-said to be one of the longest royal lineage Evening enjoy Sound & Light Show.
DAY 4: Saturday: UDAIPUR
Also called the City Of Lakes,the Mewar Dynasty Clan shifted & built this city in 16th Century. Morning visit City Palace complex ,originally built in 16th century & renovated in 18th Century. Enjoy Boat Ride in Lake Pichola Lunch in Palace hotel.Time free to shop for miniature paintings.
DAY 5: Sunday: JAISALMER
Jaisalmer lies in the heart of Harsh Thar desert, & surrounding sands have Golden Yellowish tinge Morning, walk through the bazaar & narrow streets of Jaisalmer Golden Fort, originally built in 12th century & renovated in 18th Century Afternoon proceed for excursion to shifting Sand Dunes of Sam & enjoy camel joy ride Later enjoy Cultural program & bonfire dinner under the stars,in the desert.
DAY 6: Monday: JODHPUR
Jodhpur was the capital of the kingdom known as Marwar. & a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar desert.
Morning visit Mehrangarh Fort Palace Complex,located atop a 400 feet hill & approachable only through meandering gateways.The foundation of the Fort was laid in 15th century,but work was completed only in 17th Century.There is a very impressive Museum collection in the complex.Walk to nearby located Jaswant Thada, an architectural 19th century landmark in white marble & built as a memorial to local Royalty Lunch in Palace Hotel.
Day 7: Tue: BIRD SANCTUARY & THE TAJ MAHAL
Early Morning ,enjoy cycle rickshaw ride through narrow pathways of Bharatpur Bird sanctuary ,an UNESCO World heritage site & home to over 230 species of birds.
Afternoon visit UNESCO World Heritage site of Agra Fort,once seat of power & capital of The Mughal Dynasty Proceed to the Taj Mahal,an UNESCO World Heritage Site & more popularly renowned as One of the Seven Wonders of Modern World Time free to Shop for marble mementoes.
Day 8: Wed: DELHI Return
Palace On Wheels train returns to Safderjung Railway
Station by 530 a.m. in the morning.
Check out by 715 a.m. after early breakfast.

- Infants (Children under the age of 5 years) can travel for free subject to sharing of bed with adult.

Please read the following conditions carefully before confirming your booking

Operator & Liability
- The Palace on Wheels train tour is jointly operated by the Tourism Department of the Government of Rajasthan and M/s East India Travel Co in the capacity of a Booking Agent, and its liability is limited accordingly.

Booking & Payment
- Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of an advance deposit along with a copy of each passenger’s passport and their intended travel date.
- The outstanding balance must be received no later than 70 days prior to the scheduled departure date.
- For bookings made within 70 days of departure, full payment in a single installment is required to secure the reservation.
- If the advance payment is not received by the due date, the advance deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and will only take effect upon written acknowledgement from us.
- More than 90 days before departure: A minimum cancellation charge of 15% of the published ticket value (inclusive of applicable taxes) will apply.
- 90–61 days before departure: A minimum cancellation charge of 30% of the published ticket value (inclusive of applicable taxes) will apply.
- 60–31 days before departure: A minimum cancellation charge of 50% of the published ticket value (inclusive of applicable taxes) will apply.
- 30 days or fewer before departure: No refund will be issued under any circumstances.
- No refund is payable if a passenger chooses to discontinue their journey once it has commenced.
- Cancellations arising from a medical emergency will be referred to the train operator for assessment; the operator’s decision will be final and binding.

Tour Operation
- The tour will operate only when a minimum of 17 cabins have been booked.
- Should the operator cancel a scheduled departure, a full refund of the advance deposit will be provided.
- No additional compensation will be payable for any consequential loss incurred.
- Any request to change a passenger’s name or amend the journey details will be treated as a cancellation and the applicable charges will apply.

Tariff & Tax Changes
- The operator reserves the right to revise tariffs or terms and conditions at any time.
- Passengers will be required to pay any resulting difference.
- Any increase in government taxes or levies, whether occurring before or after ticket issuance, must be borne by the passenger.

Visa & Passport
- Passengers holding foreign passports are responsible for obtaining a valid Indian visa prior to travel.
- No refund will be issued if a passenger is unable to travel due to failure to secure the appropriate visa.

Refunds
- Refunds, where applicable, will be processed in Indian Rupees at the equivalent value received.
- A processing fee of USD 100 per person will be deducted from all refund amounts.

Jurisdiction
- Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NCR Delhi (Gurgaon).

- Over Past Four Decades ,Palace on Wheels was operated by Tourism Dept of Rajasthan State Govt ( RTDC) ,but has been Privatized for Sept 2023 Onwards Departs
- The New Train Tour Operator ( Joint Collaboration of Cube Construction & Easy Toll Solutions) has amended Booking Terms & Cancellation Rules for Exiting & New Bookings
Amended - Palace On Wheels Booking Procedure :
- Clarify if you are Indian National Or Foreign Passport Holder
- If have OCI Card ( to apply Rs tariff) We require copy of same
- Advice depart dates with number of persons & cabin type required to Check Availability
- In case of children< 12 years travelling with you , We also require their Date of Birth .
- To Process Booking ,we require Passport Copies of all Passengers
- Booking will be confirmed on receipt of MINIMUM 40% of Published Ticket value (inclusive taxes) as advance deposit.
- Payment can be made EITHER by Online Credit Authorization Or Bank Transfer
- Balance payment must reach us before 65 days before tour depart
- If Booking request made less than 65 days prior to tour
depart,-we require One Time Full Payment to confirm
Booking
- Saloon/cabin Allocation will only be made at time of Check-In at Railway Station .
- Travel Kit & e-ticket will be forwarded on completion of Booking Formalities
- Airport Pick Up Or Hotel Booking arrangements in New Delhi can be orgamised – AT Extra Cost
Payment Options:
- Foreign Passport Holders Can pay Either by Credit Card Authorization OR Swift Bank Wire Transfer
- Indians pay by NEFT/RTGS Transfer through Indian Bank.
CANCELLATION TERMS of New Train Operator of Palace on Wheels:
- Palace on Wheels Train Tour is being NOW operated by Joint Consortium of M/S Easy Toll & Cube Construction Ltd ,instead of Tourism Dept of Rajasthan State Govt (RTDC)
- Liability of Royal Indian Trains , is limited to that of Booking Agent only
- All Cancellation requests must be made in writing & acknowledged by us
- Minimum 20% Cancellation Fee on Published Ticket Value (inclusive Taxes) if request received more than 92 Days prior to Tour Depart
- Minimum 25% Cancellation Fee on Published Ticket Value (inclusive Taxes) if request received between 91 to 77 Days Prior to Tour Depart
- Minimum 30% Cancellation Fee on Published Ticket Value (inclusive Taxes) if request received between 76 to 62 Days Prior to Tour Depart
- No Refund is permitted if Cancellation Request is received less than 62 Days Prior to Tour Depart
- In case of Failure to make Balance Payment more than 65 days before depart-Entire Advance Paid stands forfeited
- For Booking request received less than Sixty Five Days BEFORE depart -same cancellation rules will apply
- Train Tour will operate subject to Booking of Minimum Fifteen Booking
- In case Scheduled Depart Cancelled by Train Tour Operator Due to Low Occupancy Or for whats over any other reason,-Train Tour Operator is liable to make full refund of advance Paid for booking Train Ticket of Palace on Wheels Train Tour -WITHOUT any additional liability to compensate CLIENT for any other claims for financial loss Or mental harassment suffered etc( viz Cancellation Fee of Air Ticket ,Hotel Booking ,Visa Fee ,Extension Tours etc )
- Request for Change in Name of Passenger Or Journey will be treated as cancellation & governed by Cancellation Rules
- NO request for Refund will be entertained - in Case of No Show at Railway Station of Train Depart Or Refusal to Board the Train for whatsoever reason OR Check-out after Part Journey
- In case Guests does not follow the Scheduled Program Or Misbehaves with Other Guests - The Train Manager reserves the right to take appropriate action
- In case of Last Minute change in Scheduled Tours Or Missing out on Visting Monuments ,due to local logistics , no request for compensation/refund will be entertained
- In case of Request for Cancellation /Postponement of Journey -due to Medical Emergency etc , Relevant Medical Papers from Hospital need to be forwarded & Decision of Train Tour Management will be final for same
- Train Tour Operator Reserves the Right to Amend Tariff , Booking Terms & Cancellation Rules at Short Notice
Refund Policy:
- After written request by client on mail - Refund will be processed within 20 working days if pay by credit card/debit card and 25 working days if paid by bank transfer.
IMPORTANT :
- Overseas guests are requests to pre-purchase Tour Insurance from country of origin of travel
- Maximum liability of Royal Indian trains is limited to that of booking agent only.
- Disputes (if any) are subject to jurisdiction of courts of Gurgaon ,NCR Delhi (India) only.
- All Foreign Passport Holders need to self-obtain India Visa - ,before boarding flight from Country of Present Residence
